Legacy of Hope

Youth and adults both are immediately engaged and profoundly touched by prevention specialist and speaker Susie Vanderlip. Her original one-woman theatrical presentation, Legacy of Hope, address the emotional and social issues of youth and families--alcohol and drug abuse, teen pregnancy, gangs, self-injury, suicide, bullying, and depression.

Zombie Lock-in

Students in fifth through 12 grades are invited for some after-hours, zombie-themed fun at the Helen Warner Branch. Students may eat pizza, play games, and survive the night of the living dead. A permission slip from a parent is required.

Masterpiece Story Time

Participants will hear a story about art or colors and then create their own masterpieces.

Spend the day soaking up the latest in genealogy topics. The speakers and their topics will include:

  • Tim Gleisner on Library of Michigan resources
  • Kris Rzepczynski on the Archives of Michigan and the Seeking Michigan website
  • Laura Hedgecock on writing your family story.
