Rockin' Mondays: Community Music School's Bucket Beats

Children 8 years and older are invited to a Community Music School Bucket Beats group drumming session for beginners. Participants will learn basic beats and rhythms on plastic buckets.

This is a ticketed event. Library cardholders may pick up a free ticket at the Children’s Room Desk, one per child, beginning at 10:30 a.m. each week. The Bucket Beats program is not open to groups.

Make Your Own Video

Students in fifth through 12th grades are invited to “Be the Star,” where they may create their own music videos using green-screen technology.The interactive program allows participants to select a song to perform, a video background, and fun props to make the video production come alive. Participants may make up to four videos and will receive a DVD with the videos to take home.

Super Tuesdays: Summer Concert With Laura Doherty and Friends

Chicago-based Laura Doherty acoustically rocks kids’ worlds with breezy folk-pop tunes from her four Parents’ Choice award-winning CDs, which feature her adorable puppet friends Jazzasaurus, Pinky the Fish, and Domingo the Flamingo. Laura also will be performing songs from her brand new "High Five" album. This upbeat, interactive concert will have kids dancing and clapping along to Laura's original catchy tunes!
