Early Childhood Connections Playgroup

This parent and child interactive playgroup, presented by Early Childhood Connections, focuses on developmentally appropriate school readiness activities for children 5 years and younger. Activities include sensory play, open ended art, and activities to encourage early literacy skills. Children are offered the chance to learn how to play and interact with other children while becoming comfortable with the library. Siblings are welcome.

Music First

Youngsters between 0 and 5 will enjoy this musically structured class just for them. Preschoolers will use different instruments and sing in different keys and meters. Little ones will become acquainted with sounds and learn about music as a language.

This is a ticketed event. Library cardholders may pick up a free ticket at the Children’s Room Desk, one per child, beginning at 10:30 a.m. each week.

Discovering Nature With Leila Arboretum

As a prelude to summer, representatives from Leila Arboretum will bring the great outdoors inside to the library. Preschoolers will discover the parts of a plant, nature sounds, flowers, bees, and many other wonders found in our backyards.

Potty Training Story Time

Parents and toddlers will hear stories, do crafts, and sing songs that help make potty training fun.

Teddy Bear Sleepover

Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite pajamas and bring their stuffed animals to the library at 3 p.m. Friday, May 11, for an afternoon of stories, songs, and snacks. The stuffed animals may stay overnight for some fun at the library. Participants return on Saturday before 4:30 p.m. to pick up their animals and receive a picture of their stuffed friends’ overnight adventures.
