Willard expands digital magazine collection

Willard Library cardholders now have access to more than 3,000 magazines through the digital app Libby and Overdrive website.

Willard’s digital magazine service, RBdigital Library Division, was acquired by Overdrive/Libby, which allows the library to offer Libby's expanded magazine catalog.

You will continue to be able to browse, borrow and enjoy all the same great magazines you loved from RBdigital. In addition, Libby has greatly increased the number of magazines available to Willard cardholders.

Many cardholders will already be familiar with Libby as they use it to read or download ebooks and audiobooks.

The magazine checkouts do not count toward a guest’s Libby or Overdrive checkout limit, which is 10 items at a time.

The digital library, which is available through the Libby app or on the Overdrive website, is available 24/7 without leaving home and is free with a Willard Library card.

All you need to get started with Libby is your device (a phone, tablet, or computer), your library card number and your PIN number, which is the last four digits of your phone number.

The one-tap Libby app is easy to use and will guide you through the setup process and get you connected in just a few minutes.

Anyone with questions may use in-app support or contact Willard Library.

Available magazines include US Weekly, HGTV, Taste of Home, Vogue, The New Yorker, Wired, and Money.

In the app, users will be able to select lending periods of 7, 14 or 21 days. Like the ebooks, the magazines will disappear at the end of the lending period. Users may renew magazines within three days of the end of the lending period.

In addition, past issues of many of the magazines are available for checkout.
