March Story Time Grab 'n' Go Kits

The March Grab ‘n’ Go Kits will include a list of pre-kindergarten sight words, a list of fun ways to practice those sight words, and important questions to ask your child during story time. In addition, the kits will have materials for projects that go with the March virtual story times.

Life is a Canvas Art Kits for Teens

While we may be experiencing some difficulties and things are changing constantly, one thing remains the same: We are the creators of our own masterpiece.  Students in grades 5-12 may pick up “Life is a Canvas” Art Kits with materials to create masterpieces. Students will have chances to win prizes by taking photos of their art (either using the supplies provided or their own) and sharing their photos on Willard Library's Facebook page or This email address is being protected from spambots. Babytime on the Go Bags for March

Learn creative ways to boost your baby's early literacy skills with a Babytime on the Go Bag. This month's bag has a farm theme and includes a fun, farm board book and two mini-stuffed farm animals to encourage play, which is one of the five early literacy skills. In addition, the bag will include an early literacy calendar with a list of everyday activities parents can do to boost brain and vocabulary development.

Couch Club Book Club: ‘A Woman Is No Man’

Willard Library presents a virtual book discussion with Etaf Rum, author of "A Woman is No Man." The novel is one of two books selected for the 2021 Battle Creek Reads program with the theme "The Ties That Bind Us."

Rum writes about three generations of Palestinian American women tethered to their Arab culture and comforted during times of violence while struggling with their individuality.

The discussion is in advance of Rum's virtual talk on April 13.
