Find Your Next Great Read

Willard Library staff members have done a wide variety of reading and watching this month.

  • Butterfly Girl by Rene Denfeld
    • This book parallels the stories of investigator Naomi, who has the "uncanny ability for finding missing children" and an abused 12-year-old girl by the name of Celia.
  • Hill Women by Cassie Chambers
    • If you've read Hillbilly Elegy and Educated, you'll be interested in this memoir about three generations of women living in one of the poorest counties in Kentucky's Appalachian Mountains. These women triumph over domestic violence, drug abuse, and other struggles in their family and community to become leaders who keep their town from falling apart.
  • Pecan Man by Cassie Dandridge Selleck
    • This short work of Southern fiction is set in the 1970s. One summer, the childless widow, Ora Lee Beckworth, hires a homeless man, who the children nickname the "Pee-can Man" and their mothers call them inside whenever he appears. Twenty-five years after the Pecan Man is sent to prison for murder, Ora seeks the truth.
