A look at what's happening at Willard

Library cards spell out READ with Willard employee Beth Williamson.

As a child, one of my favorite places to visit was the library.

The thought of using my very own library card, and checking out a book or two of my choice made me feel so grown up. Going to the library provided me with opportunities to experience a whole new world through books, which always has been very exciting to me.

My childhood visits to the library contributed to me being a lifelong reader and lover of books.

That's why I am pleased invite you to celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day on Saturday, Feb. 2, from 2-4 p.m. at the Helen Warner Branch.

During this event, children will be able to receive a library card if they currently don't have one. Children age 5 or older who reside in the Battle Creek, Harper Creek, Lakeview, or Pennfield school districts are eligible to receive a free library card.

Also, the amazing library staff will have craft stations set up filled with fun projects that connect to literacy and the library.

And finally, there will be book giveaways for the children who attend.

Let's continue to foster our children's excitement for reading by visiting the Helen Warner Branch on Feb. 2, Take Your Child to the Library Day!
