Flavors of February! A Black History Celebration

Downtown Programming Room
Celebrate Black History Month by learning about foods and their importance in African American history. Learn more about soul food, an ethic cuisine prepared and eaten by African Americans, specifically those from the Southern United States. Once we’ve finished our history lesson, we’ll sample some of the delicious dishes that have shaped the lives and cultures of many African Americans
African American Celebration 2023
Sunday, Feb. 26, 3 p.m.
Miller Stone Building, 77 Capital Ave N.E.
Marcel Price and G Foster II of The Diatribe join Willard Library and the Battle Creek community for our annual African American Celebration. Price and Foster will perform freeform and spoken word poetry as well as provide a keynote address and closing remarks touching on themes pertinent to their craft and lifting up our community. Seating is limited. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. All ages welcome.
