Libraries have been in my blood for a long time. My first job was as a shelver at my hometown library. It was here that I fell in love with libraries and decided to pursue a career in the information science field.

Kathy Domenico
Director of Finance
I’ve always enjoyed reading. I remember begging my parents to get me The Chronicles of Narnia. They finally did, and I still have the set today. I actually don’t know if I ever finished the series because I kept reading The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe over and over again. I loved it and all the characters.

Tynisha Dungey
Director of Youth Services and Community Engagement
Tynisha Dungey started her career as an educator at the age of 7. She would sit her dolls in a row and teach them lessons about reading and arithmetic. Her parents would find papers where Tynisha had written out lesson plans on what she would teach the next day. Once, Tynisha had accumulated enough books, she developed a system for her “students” to check out books from her “classroom library.” To no surprise, as soon as Tynisha graduated from Battle Creek Central High School, she went off to Grand Valley State University to study history and elementary education.

During my 18-year career with the Battle Creek Public Schools, I served as a computer technician, network administrator, and director of technology services. During the last five years, I oversaw the Technology and Facilities Departments, which was especially rewarding for a person who loves challenges.

Amanda Paffhausen
Director of Circulation Services
Amanda has a head for technology and a heart for public service. Putting both to work for the guests at Willard Library has been a labor of love for this Battle Creek native since she started as a student employee more than 20 years ago. She has worked in every department since.
