The Helen Warner Branch Seed Library exists to provide community members with a variety of free seed samples. By distributing seeds to the community, we hope to promote environmental awareness and sustainability, as well as aid in the conservation of local and heirloom varieties.
Seed selections are available on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last. Individuals may select up to five seed packets per month. Please take only what you will plant. “Check out” your seed selections with the sign out sheet located on the seed cabinet. This helps us maintain an accurate inventory and track usage.
Disclaimer: Willard Library makes no claims as to the viability or purity of the seed donated. The propagation of patented seeds is prohibited by law. Willard Library will not knowingly accept these seeds for distribution to our community.
Our seed library is made possible by donations from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, Hudson Valley Seeds, Seed Savers Exchange, Sow True Seed, Territorial Seed Company, Victory Seeds, West Coast Seeds, and locally harvested seeds.
Please consider returning leftover seeds or mature harvested seeds back to the library at the end of the season. We also welcome donations of commercially purchased seeds so that we can continue the Seed Library.
If donating seeds, please fill out a Seed Donation form. Return your clean, dry, ready to be packaged seeds to the Helen Warner Branch Information Desk.
* Donated GMO or hybrid varieties will be distributed outside of the Seed Library.
